On November 27, 2024, employees of the State Enterprise "Ukrvodshlyakh" participated in a webinar on dredging works. The webinar was held with the support of the EU-funded project "Promoting Transport Development of the Dnipro River". The webinar was attended by: Project Manager "Promoting Transport Development of the Dnipro River" Edwin Lock; representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Resources of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (Rijkswaterstaat): Rhine Commissioner Ivo ten Broek and Head of the Network Development and Goal Formulation Group in the Eastern Part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Rico Thoenis; representatives of the Department of Maritime and River Transport of the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine Olena Starikova and Oksana Cheval; representatives of the State Enterprise "Ukrvodshlyakh": Deputy Director for Development Yulia Voronaya and officials of the enterprise, whose functions include organizing and conducting dredging and other road works, as well as the functioning of the Ukr Ris Danube Project. Yulia Voronaya reported on the requirements of Ukrainian legislation, in particular the Law of Ukraine "On Inland Water Transport" in the field of road works, outlined the key issues that the Enterprise is currently facing and that need to be resolved under during the work to ensure guaranteed depths on navigable waterways of Ukraine and timely informing shipowners about actual depths and their changes. Representatives of Rijkswaterstaat familiarized the participants with the role and functions of this ministry related to the management and operation of inland waterways, about the experience of conducting dredging works and soil management on inland waterways of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, as well as the procedure for informing shipowners with the help of river information services. Representatives of the State Enterprise "Ukrvodshlyakh" spoke about the peculiarities of road works on the Dnieper River and the experience of the company's personnel in the field of conducting dredging works. A discussion was held between the participants of the meeting to discuss issues related to conducting operational dredging, the procedure for using and selling soil, compliance with environmental requirements during these works, as well as cooperation between state bodies, organizations carrying out dredging works, the river information service and users of inland waterways.
