By order of the Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine dated December 26-th, 2025, No. 1865, amendments were made to the Regulations on the Ukrainian River Information Service. The basic version of the Regulations on the River Information Service was approved in 2023. The changes to these Regulations were prepared taking into account the practical implementation of the “UkrRIS-Danube” Project by the staff of the State Enterprise "UKRVODSHLIAH" with partners, as well as taking into account the requirements of European regulations, standards and guidelines issued in recent years. The main changes relate to the following areas: - Granting the State Enterprise "UKRVODSHLIAH" the authority to determine and assign RIS-indexes; - Introducing a separate section to the Regulations, which describes the procedure for determining and assigning RIS-indexes to objects on inland waterways; - More specific definition of the functions of the Main RIS Center and regional RIS centers; - Granting the State Enterprise "UKRVODSHLIAH" the authority to publish on own official website and in the RIS information website the guiding documents of the EU and the European Committee for the Development of Standards in the Field of Inland Navigation (CESNI) concerning the functioning and development of the RIS; - Clarification of the relationship and procedure for interaction between the State Enterprise "UKRVODSHLIAH" and the main groups of RIS users: state bodies, enterprises in the field of inland navigation, shipowners and shipmasters; - Other regulatory and procedural clarifications.
