The State Waterways Enterprise "UKRVODSHLIAH" as part of the Ukrainian delegation joined the events organized by the Permanent Secretariat of the Transport Community, aimed at strengthening the potential and development of water transport and multimodality on European inland waterways. The events took place on November, 25-27, 2025 in Vienna (Austria) and Gabčíkovo (Slovakia). The delegation was headed by Олена Старікова, Head of the River Transport Division of the Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine. Deputy Director for Development Yulia Voronaya participated in the event from the State Enterprise "UKRVODSHIAH". As part of the program, the delegation took part in a study visit on the topic: "Improving the processes of management and organization of inland waterway transport in Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova". The Deputy Minister for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine, Андрій Кашуба, took part in the forum and made a report. The main purpose of the visit was to exchange experience in improving the efficiency of the Ukrainian inland waterway transport system, the functioning of ports located in the Danube region, ensuring safety, environmental sustainability and digitalization in the field of inland waterway transport, the development of river information services, the exchange of information within the framework of the implementation of the CEERIS and EuRIS projects. The event was attended by esteemed European speakers (Manfred Seitz, Kristijan Ležaić, Alain Baron, Mario Kauffman) who emphasized the importance of the development of river information services and the implementation of the “UkrRIS-Danube” project. The participants of the study visit also had the opportunity to visit the shipping lock in Gabčíkovo — one of the key transport hub on the Danube — and get acquainted with the features of its work.
