On September, 16th-18th, 2025, in Constanta, Romania, the Ukrainian delegation took part in events dedicated to capacity building and development of water transport and multimodality on European inland waterways: - Workshop “Enhancing River Information Services in Republic of Moldova and Ukraine: A Step Closer to EU Harmonization and Danube Connectivity”; - 15th Technical Committee meeting Waterborne Transport and Multimodality “Advancing Port Sustainability and Multimodality in the Western Balkans and Eastern Partnership”; - Workshop „Green Transition of Ports in Western Balkan and Eastern Partnership”. The events were organized by the Transport Community Permanent Secretariat. The events were attended by representatives of the European Union, VIADONAU, RIS-COMEX2, the Director General of the Danube Commission Secretariat, official representatives of the Danube countries, organizations interested in the development of European inland waterways and river information services. The Ukrainian delegation included representatives of the State Enterprise "UKVODSHLIAH". The events are dedicated to the expansion, development and improvement of river information services in Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, harmonization of actions aimed at connecting with the Danube countries, obtaining theoretical and practical experience in the issues of building and developing RIS, deepening cooperation and joint actions with neighboring countries on the implementation of RIS on the Ukrainian section of the Danube River. During the Workshop “Enhancing River Information Services in Republic of Moldova and Ukraine: A Step Closer to EU Harmonization and Danube Connectivity”, members of the Ukrainian delegation made a presentation on the experience and current status of the implementation of RIS on the Ukrainian section of the Danube River, as well as on the development by the State Enterprise "Ukraine Sea Ports Authority" of software for automated information exchange during port operations. Separately, issues of cooperation with Romania and Moldova, as neighboring countries, during the implementation of RIS on the Ukrainian section of the Danube River were discussed. The program of events includes a visit of the participants to the seaport of Constanta, during which the participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the work of the grain, container and automobile terminals of the port and the functioning of the shipping safety management system in the port.
