Signing of the Grant Agreement for the implementation of the UkrRIS-Danube project

On October 28, 2024, a Grant Agreement was signed between the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) and the State Enterprise "Ukrvodshlyakh" to implement the "UkrRIS-Danube" project. This project envisages the creation of a segment of the Ukr Ris Danube Project (RIS) on the Ukrainian section of the Danube River from the border with Romania to the Black Sea. The project aims to develop the Ukrainian RIS system in accordance with European standards and operationally integrate river information services into the EuRIS system. The implementation of the RIS system in Ukraine is of fundamental importance for the European Solidarity Corridors, as well as for overall European mobility. The development and implementation of the RIS system on the Ukrainian section of the Danube River will allow for the end-to-end use of the European inland waterway network from the North and Baltic Seas to the Black Sea according to the standards introduced in the EU countries. River information services and corridor management services supported by RIS will allow inland waterway transport in Ukraine to become safer, greener, more reliable, more planned and transparent. Partners in the implementation of the UkrRIS-Danube project are SE “UKRVODSHLYAKH”, SE “Sea Ports Administration of Ukraine”, State Hydrography and PJSC “Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company”. The project coordinator is SE “UKRVODSHLYAKH”. (In accordance with Article 17.3 of the Grant Agreement for the implementation of the UkrRIS-Danube project, the following information is necessarily added: “Co-financed by the European Union. The views and opinions expressed are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the views and opinions of the EU or the grantor. Neither the EU nor the grantor are responsible for them.”)
