Meeting of representatives of the “UkrRIS-Danube” project with CESNI experts on the application of Inland ENC On March 21-st, 2025, the second specialized meeting on the application of electronic charts for inland navigation (iENC) during the implementation of the “UkrRIS-Danube” project was held at the SE “UKRVODSHLYAKH”. The meeting was attended by representatives of the State Enterprise "UKRVODSHLIAH", the State Hydrographic Service of Ukraine (SHSU) and the Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company, as well as experts from the European Committee for the Development of Standards in Inland Navigation (CESNI): Gert Morlion Mark Person. The meeting discussed issues related to the introduction of iENC, in particular: the use of iENC in shipboard systems, the differences between versions 2.4 and 2.5 of iENC, the terms and conditions of the introduction and practical use of higher versions of iENC standards, as well as the use of DGNSS reference stations in the AIS network on the Danube. Attention was paid to the prospects for the introduction of new versions of iENC, since the introduction of new versions is associated with an additional financial burden on users. The representative of SHSU reported that the institution is already working on the introduction of a new version of iENC (2.4) and will be ready to provide users with it by the end of this year. As a result of the discussion, the following joint decisions were made: to prepare the iENC version (2.4) within the framework of Project, but to leave the opportunity for users to use all previously introduced versions.
