A meeting of the Working Group was held in Budapest (Hungary)

On October 9-10, 2024, a meeting of the Working Group on Technical Issues of the Danube Commission was held in Budapest (Hungary).

According to the agenda of the meeting, the members of the delegations exchanged information on the analysis of the use and development of river information services (RIS) on European inland waterways.

The Ukrainian delegation at this meeting included the head of the river information service of the State Enterprise "Ukrvodshlyakh", Captain Tykhonov Illya, who made a report on the RIS development program on the Ukrainian section of the Danube River.

This year, within the framework of the European Union program "Connecting Europe Facility" (CEF), the Ukrainian side is preparing the project "Ukrainian River Information Service on the Danube River" ("UkrRIS-Danube"), which aims to develop, implement and operate RIS on the Ukrainian section of the Danube River, including the integration of this service into the EuRIS and CEERIS portals within the framework of the RIS COMEX-2 project.

On July 16, 2024, the Program Coordination Committee approved the project application and gave its consent in principle to conclude a Grant Agreement between Ukraine and the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA).

(In accordance with Article 17.3 of the Grant Agreement for the implementation of the UkrRIS-Danube project, the following information must be added: "Co-financed by the European Union. The views and opinions expressed are those of the authors alone and do not necessarily reflect the views and opinions of the EU or the grantor.
