In July 2026, the State Enterprise "UKRVODSHLIAH" held two training seminars with the participation of regional RIS centers operators on the assignment and mapping of RIS-indexes of Distance Mark along Waterway Axis (hectometers) and shore objects on sections of Ukrainian inland waterways.

These training seminars were held within the framework of the implementation of the "UkrRIS-Danube" project, which provides for the building of a RIS segment on the Ukrainian section of the Danube in accordance with the regulatory documents of Ukraine and the EU, with the prospect of scaling the experience of implementing the Project results to other inland waterways of Ukraine.

During seminars the participants studied EU regulatory documents and national regulatory legal acts related to the assignment of RIS-indexes, practiced skills in assigning and applying RIS-indexes to hectometers and inland waterway transport objects, creating RIS-indexes tables, and visualizing RIS-indexes on an electronic map.
