On June 24-th, 2026, at the initiative of the “UkrRIS-Danube”, Project Management Team a Steering Committee meeting was held with the participation of representatives of all beneficiaries of this Project.

The meeting discussed issues related to adjusting the Detailed Work Plan and the Project implementation schedule. The main difference from the current Work Plan is the creation of the “UkrRIS” web platform, which will ensure the receiving and exchange of information in the interests of the RIS.

This adjustment is directly related to the amendments to the EU Directive 2005/44/EC on harmonised river information services on the RIS in the Community, which entered into force on 01.01.2026. Among the main innovations of these changes is the creation of an “European RIS Environment”, which means an electronic single-point-of-access platform based on national RIS information that provides technical and operational services for RIS users and contains links to electronic reporting according to the “once-only” principle.

The adjustment of the “UkrRIS-Danube” Project involves changing the technical method of its implementation by combining several separate national services and applications into the national "UkrRIS" Web platform without changing the planned final results of the Project.

The creation and development of this platform will provide a practical opportunity to interact with the European platforms EuRIS, CEERIS in accordance with the principle of the “European RIS Environment” and with the use of modern technological solutions.

The “UkrRIS-Danube” Project Steering Committee at this meeting approved a decision to adjust the Detailed Work Plan and the Project Implementation Schedule.

This decision was also discussed and preliminarily agreed upon at a meeting of the Project representatives with the responsible managers of the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA).

The implementation of a new concept for the creation of the national UkrRIS Web platform for the comprehensive implementation of the “UkrRIS-Danube” Project has already begun.
